Nurses employed directly by general practices should receive a 4.25% pay increase for 2025-26. The award is backdated to 1 April 2025. 

The increase is in line with the Agenda for Change increase for 2025-26. 

The Scottish government has provided funding  for practices to pass the increase on to staff that are directly employed by them. 

If you are employed by a general practice and do not receive the increase in reasonable time, you should make an informal enquiry to your employer to find out when you will be receiving the increase and backdated pay.

Negotiations have not started yet between Scottish government and GP representatives in respect of the 2026/27 GMS settlement, however, we will be calling for party with those directly employed by NHS Scotland as a minimum
