Nursing staff tell secretary of state how to deliver NHS reforms
RCN General Secretary and Chief Executive, Professor Nicola Ranger said: “The health secretary heard directly from nursing staff about how best to transform our NHS. We are the largest workforce inside the health service, delivering the vast majority of care, and our clinical skills and knowledge are priceless. For the government’s plan to succeed, our profession must be valued as thinkers as well as do-ers."

Nursing staff face ‘impossible task’ as record numbers wait more than 12 hours for a bed, says ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½
RCN Executive Director for England Patricia Marquis said: "Hospitals are jam-packed and patients are lining corridors routinely. A fall in waiting lists is welcome but will be of little comfort to the nursing staff trying to keep patients safe under some of the most extreme pressures in NHS history."

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ responds to report on barriers to healthcare degree apprenticeships
RCN Executive Director for England, Patricia Marquis, said: "Health leaders have identified apprenticeships as a means of boosting recruitment into nursing, including for those who cannot afford to take on debt and go to university. However, the findings of this report show the route is failing to help close the gap left by a broken tuition fee model, with trusts lacking the funding to keep up with costs, while limited clinical placements leave NHS England unable to meet its own targets."
